A new Executive Chef has just taken over the reins at Puka Park Resort and is making an impact. Chef Todd Tregoweth joins Puka Park from Hotel Rydges Rotorua a 135-room hotel, where he has been Executive Chef for the past 3 years. Prior to Rydges, Todd’s resume includes Treetops Lodge & Estate and the Rotorua Energy Event Centre. Todd and his wife Stacy aren’t new to Coromandel living, in fact they spent three years here in the early 2000’s and are excited to be back with their three children.
Bradley Conder, GM of Puka Park was very impressed with Chef Tregoweth’s focus on clean flavours and using more local Coromandel products in the future menus. Bradley quotes “We live in a uniquely clean and green part of New Zealand and we should be sharing our good food practices with the people coming here form all around the world”.
In 2015 Todd won the highly-acclaimed award “Outstanding Chef of the Year” for Rotorua, and is looking forward to showcasing his dishes at Puka Park in the coming months. Todd will also be firing up the BBQ at the Music Picnic at the Point festival presented by Experience Pauanui on March 11.
